Role Overview
The Accounts Clerk will support the finance function by maintaining accurate financial records, handling statutory compliance, and managing day-to-day accounting transactions using QuickBooks.
Key Responsibilities

Record and maintain accurate financial transactions in QuickBooks

Prepare and process invoices, receipts, and payment vouchers

Manage statutory deductions and returns including PAYE, NSSF, NHIF, VAT, and withholding tax
-
Prepare and file statutory returns within set deadlines

Reconcile bank accounts, debtor and creditor accounts

Maintain proper accounting documentation and filing systems

Support month-end and year-end closing processes

Assist with audit preparations and respond to audit queries

Ensure compliance with internal financial controls and statutory requirements
Qualifications & Experience
-
Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
-
At least 2–3 years’ experience in an accounts or finance role
-
Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks is mandatory

Proven experience handling statutory deductions and compliance
-
Good understanding of basic accounting principles and financial controls

Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting documentation
-
High level of accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail
