KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Carry out preventive and corrective mechanical maintenance on crusher equipment and associated machinery.
  • Inspect, troubleshoot and repair mechanical faults on crushers, conveyors, feeders and related plant equipment.
  • Conduct routine equipment inspections and identify potential mechanical problems before breakdowns occur.
  • Carry out planned maintenance, servicing and repairs in accordance with established maintenance schedules.
  • Assist in the installation, alignment, adjustment and commissioning of mechanical equipment.
  • Carry out equipment dismantling, fitting, replacement and reassembly of mechanical components as required.
  • Inspect components such as bearings, shafts, belts, pulleys, gears and other wear parts and recommend replacement where necessary.
  • Monitor equipment condition and promptly report defects, unusual wear, vibrations and other maintenance requirements.
  • Respond to plant breakdowns and carry out timely repairs to restore operations.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and report completed maintenance and repair work.
  • Work closely with the Engineering and Production teams to minimise equipment downtime and improve plant reliability.
  • Ensure tools, equipment and work areas are properly maintained and used safely.
  • Comply with all company Health & Safety procedures, maintenance standards and safe working practices.

🎓 QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
  • Relevant hands-on experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably within a quarrying, manufacturing, construction or heavy industrial environment.
  • Previous experience working with crushers and crushing plants is highly desirable.
  • Good knowledge of mechanical maintenance, equipment servicing and mechanical fault-finding.
  • Practical experience with conveyors, bearings, shafts, pulleys, belts, gearboxes and other industrial machinery is an advantage.
  • Ability to diagnose mechanical faults and carry out effective repairs.
  • Ability to work under pressure and respond effectively to equipment breakdowns.
  • Strong commitment to workplace Health & Safety and good maintenance practices.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a technical team.
  • Physically fit and comfortable working in a demanding industrial environment.
