Job Purpose

To lead the end-to-end execution of solar projects—from planning and design through to commissioning. The ideal candidate:

• Has 10+ years in the solar industry

• Brings strong expertise in both project management and solar PV system design

 Key Responsibilities

• Manage entire project lifecycles for various solar applications (commercial, industrial, off-grid)

• Independently design PV systems: component sizing, layout, SLDs, BOMs

• Use tools like AutoCAD, PVsyst, Helioscope

• Develop detailed project timelines and cost plans

• Supervise teams, subcontractors, and suppliers

• Conduct site visits, quality checks, feasibility studies

• Handle procurement, ensuring technical and quality compliance

• Liaise with clients, regulators, financiers, and consultants

• Monitor project progress and compliance with ERC, IEC, British Standards

• Oversee commissioning and documentation handover

• Mentor junior engineers and improve processes continuously

📚 Qualifications & Experience

• Required: Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or related

• Preferred: Master’s degree

• Desirable: PMP certification or equivalent

• Experience:

  • 10+ years in solar PV project management

  • 5+ years in senior/technical leadership roles

• Hands-on expertise in solar PV design and execution, including grid-tied, hybrid, off-grid, and ESS

• Proficient in:

  • Solar software tools

  • Microsoft Project and Excel

• Knowledge of Kenyan regulations and international solar standards
