Our client is a leading supplier of medical and hospital consumables, PPE, and healthcare equipment across East Africa, seeking a highly professional and experienced Procurement Officer to join the team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing quality medical products, managing supplier relationships, ensuring compliance with procurement policies, and supporting the company’s strategic supply chain objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement efficient procurement strategies in line with company policies.

• Source and evaluate suppliers of medical consumables, equipment, and related products.

• Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms to ensure value for money.

• Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and supplier performance.

• Ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements (KEBS, WHO, FDA, etc.).

• Monitor stock levels in collaboration with the warehouse team to avoid shortages or overstocking.

• Prepare and present regular procurement reports to management.

• Build and maintain strong professional relationships with local and international suppliers.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.

• Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in procurement, with at least 2 years in the medical/healthcare industry (mandatory).

• Strong knowledge of medical consumables, PPE, and hospital equipment.

• Professional certification in procurement (e.g., CIPS, KISM) will be an added advantage.

• Excellent negotiation, analytical, and contract management skills.

• High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.

• Strong organizational and time-management abilities.

• Proficiency in procurement software and MS Office Suite.
