Our client is seeking a dedicated and resourceful Librarian to manage and enhance our College’s library services. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting teaching, learning, and research by ensuring efficient access to both physical and digital resources, while also fostering a strong reading culture among students and staff.
Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the acquisition, cataloguing, classification, and circulation of library resources.

Manage library systems, including digital catalogues, e-resources, and research databases.

Assist students and faculty in accessing academic materials, e-books, and journals.

Conduct library orientations, information literacy sessions, and promote digital literacy.

Maintain accurate records of library inventory and prepare periodic usage reports.

Promote a reading culture through initiatives such as book clubs, exhibitions, and literacy campaigns.

Ensure compliance with TVETA/CDACC standards and institutional library policies.

Support quality assurance processes, audits, and data protection requirements.
Qualifications & Requirements:

Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Library and Information Science, Knowledge Management, or related field.

At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in a TVET or academic institution.

Proficiency in library management systems (e.g., KOHA, OPAC) and digital cataloguing tools.

ICT skills with knowledge of digital learning platforms.

Registration with TVETA as a trainer or Diploma in Pedagogy is an added advantage.

Membership in a professional body such as the Kenya Library Association is desirable.
