Key Responsibilities

  • Process and record financial transactions including invoices, receipts, payments, and journal entries.
  • Maintain accurate accounting records and update financial information in the accounting system.
  • Prepare bank, cash, and ledger reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities.
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable schedules.
  • Monitor tenant accounts and ensure timely billing of rent, service charges, and other related fees.
  • Prepare tenant statements and follow up on outstanding balances.
  • Support rent collection and debt recovery initiatives to minimize arrears.
  • Maintain lease records, including renewals, rent reviews, lease expiries, and tenant onboarding documentation.
  • Reconcile tenant deposits, rental income, and occupancy reports.
  • Generate reports on rental collections, arrears, vacancies, and occupancy levels.
  • Assist in statutory compliance and preparation of tax returns.
  • Support internal and external audits.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
  • CPA Part II or above.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in accounting within the real estate, property management, or related sector.
  • Demonstrable experience in lease administration, tenant account management, rent collection, and property accounting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong knowledge of Kenyan tax regulations and statutory compliance requirements.
