Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily engineering workshop operations to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Lead and mentor workshop technicians, fabricators, and mechanical personnel to achieve productivity and quality targets.
  • Plan, assign, and monitor fabrication, machining, maintenance, and repair activities.
  • Operate and oversee the safe use of workshop machinery, including lathe machines and other engineering equipment.
  • Ensure all fabrication and mechanical repair works meet quality and engineering standards.
  • Monitor equipment performance and coordinate preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.
  • Enforce workplace health and safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Manage workshop resources, tools, materials, and equipment efficiently.
  • Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with specifications and customer requirements.
  • Prepare workshop reports and recommend process improvements to enhance productivity.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ hands-on experience in a busy engineering or mechanical workshop.
  • Demonstrated expertise in fabrication, machining, and mechanical repairs.
  • Proven experience operating workshop machinery, including lathe machines and other engineering equipment.
  • Strong leadership, supervisory, and team management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving, planning, and organizational abilities.
  • Self-driven, flexible, and capable of working with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to be based in Mai Mahiu.
