Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily engineering workshop operations to ensure efficient workflow.
- Lead and mentor workshop technicians, fabricators, and mechanical personnel to achieve productivity and quality targets.
- Plan, assign, and monitor fabrication, machining, maintenance, and repair activities.
- Operate and oversee the safe use of workshop machinery, including lathe machines and other engineering equipment.
- Ensure all fabrication and mechanical repair works meet quality and engineering standards.
- Monitor equipment performance and coordinate preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.
- Enforce workplace health and safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment.
- Manage workshop resources, tools, materials, and equipment efficiently.
- Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with specifications and customer requirements.
- Prepare workshop reports and recommend process improvements to enhance productivity.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
- Minimum of 10 years’ hands-on experience in a busy engineering or mechanical workshop.
- Demonstrated expertise in fabrication, machining, and mechanical repairs.
- Proven experience operating workshop machinery, including lathe machines and other engineering equipment.
- Strong leadership, supervisory, and team management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving, planning, and organizational abilities.
- Self-driven, flexible, and capable of working with minimal supervision.
- Willingness to be based in Mai Mahiu.
