Our client is seeking an experienced and highly competent Human Resources Officer to establish, strengthen, and oversee the organization’s HR function. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring full compliance with labor laws, implementing best-practice HR systems, conducting HR audits, and developing policies and procedures that support business growth while minimizing organizational risk.

This role is ideal for an HR professional who has successfully set up HR departments, led HR transformation projects, conducted HR audits, and implemented compliance frameworks within dynamic business environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct HR audits and implement corrective actions to ensure compliance with labor laws and HR best practices.
• Develop, review, and implement HR policies, procedures, and employee handbooks.
• Establish and strengthen HR systems, structures, and processes across the organization.
• Ensure compliance with all employment legislation, statutory obligations, and regulatory requirements.
• Advise management on employee relations, disciplinary matters, and HR risk management.
• Develop and implement performance management and employee development frameworks.
• Support organizational growth through workforce planning, talent management, and HR strategy execution.
• Identify HR-related risks and implement mitigation measures to safeguard the organization.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Industrial Psychology, or a related field.
• Higher Diploma in Human Resource Management and CHRP certification will be an added advantage.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Human Resources, with strong exposure to:
  • HR Audits
  • HR Compliance and Labor Laws
  • HR Policy Development and Implementation
  • Setting Up and Strengthening HR Departments
  • Employee Relations and Performance Management
• Demonstrated experience implementing HR systems and driving organizational compliance.
• Strong knowledge of Kenyan labor legislation and HR best practices.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
