About the Opportunity

Powervision Consultancy is inviting applications for Internal Auditor jobs in Nairobi on behalf of a client. The opportunity is suitable for an experienced accounting or finance professional with a background in internal audit, risk assessment, and internal controls.

The successful candidate will support the review of business processes, assess compliance with established procedures, identify control weaknesses, and prepare audit reports with practical recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Internal Audits and Reviews

• Plan and conduct internal audits across relevant business functions and branches.
• Review operational processes, financial records, and supporting documentation.
• Assess whether established procedures and internal controls are being followed.
• Identify gaps, weaknesses, and areas requiring further review.
• Document audit findings and maintain appropriate working papers.

2. Internal Controls and Risk Management

• Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and recommend improvements where necessary.
• Identify potential operational, financial, and compliance risks.
• Review processes to assess whether risks are appropriately managed.
• Follow up on previously identified control gaps.
• Support the improvement of internal procedures and accountability.

3. Compliance and Process Reviews

• Review adherence to internal policies, procedures, and relevant requirements.
• Examine business processes to identify inefficiencies and control concerns.
• Conduct regular branch and function visits as required.
• Maintain clear records of reviews, findings, and recommendations.
• Escalate significant concerns through the appropriate reporting channels.

4. Audit Reporting and Recommendations

• Prepare clear and accurate audit reports.
• Present findings, risks, and recommendations to relevant management teams.
• Recommend practical actions to address identified weaknesses.
• Monitor the implementation of agreed corrective actions.
• Maintain organised audit documentation and records.

5. Collaboration and Continuous Improvement

• Work with relevant departments to understand business processes and control requirements.
• Communicate audit findings professionally and objectively.
• Support improvements in operational efficiency and risk management.
• Maintain confidentiality when handling financial and business information.
• Contribute to a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants should have:

• A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• At least 5–8 years of relevant experience in internal audit, audit, or internal controls.
• Experience reviewing business processes and assessing internal controls.
• Understanding of risk and process audits.
• Strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills.
• Ability to document findings and prepare clear reports.
• Ability to conduct regular branch and function visits.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and able to assess business processes objectively. They should be comfortable reviewing records, identifying control gaps, communicating findings, and recommending practical improvements.

The successful candidate should demonstrate professionalism, discretion, sound judgement, and the ability to work with different departments while maintaining confidentiality.

Location and Remuneration

The position is based at Karen, Nairobi, with regular branch and function visits.

The gross monthly salary is KSh 80,000–130,000, depending on experience and suitability.
