Are you a detail-oriented finance professional with a passion for inventory control, procurement, and data accuracy? We are looking for an experienced Inventory Accountant to join our growing team and play a critical role in ensuring effective inventory management, cost control, and profitability.
This is a hands-on role best suited for someone who enjoys working closely with warehouse operations, procurement teams, and finance to maintain accurate inventory records while supporting strategic pricing and margin optimization.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Control
- Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure all stock movements are correctly captured in the ERP system.
- Perform daily inventory reconciliations between physical stock and system records.
- Investigate and resolve stock variances, discrepancies, and inventory adjustments promptly.
- Manage inventory returns, scrapping, waste, offloads, and stock adjustments.
- Coordinate and participate in weekly stock takes, ensuring all variances are resolved within 24 hours.
- Prepare daily inventory, waste, and stock movement reports.
Procurement & ERP Management
- Process procurement requests and generate RFQs within the ERP system.
- Verify procurement documentation, including purchase orders, delivery notes, GRNs, and supplier invoices.
- Ensure all inventory purchases are accurately recorded and comply with company procurement procedures.
- Support adherence to Purchase-to-Pay (P2P) processes.
Costing, Pricing & Margin Analysis
- Monitor product margins and profitability.
- Update product pricing based on market trends and approved pricing strategies.
- Review sales incentives to ensure alignment with approved targets.
- Identify low-margin or loss-making products and provide recommendations to management.
- Prepare daily pricing, margin, and profitability reports.
Budget & Financial Support
- Assist in monthly budgeting and cost control initiatives.
- Monitor operational expenses against approved budgets.
- Support the Finance Manager in achieving departmental financial objectives.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
- CPA (Part II or above); CPA(K) is an added advantage.
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in inventory accounting, cost accounting, or inventory control.
- Hands-on experience using ERP systems such as Odoo, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle, or Sage ERP.
- Strong understanding of inventory costing methods, stock reconciliation, procurement processes, and financial reporting.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience in FMCG, manufacturing, distribution, retail, or logistics will be highly preferred.
