Our client is seeking a skilled and experienced Procurement Officer with proven experience in animal feeds/raw materials procurement. The ideal candidate must understand the sourcing dynamics of feed ingredients, supplier negotiations, quality specifications, and cost control within a manufacturing environment.

This role requires a proactive, analytical, and commercially aware professional who can ensure uninterrupted supply of quality raw materials at competitive prices.

Key Responsibilities

• Source and procure animal feed raw materials (e.g., maize, wheat bran, soya, premixes, additives, etc.).

• Develop and manage relationships with farmers, aggregators, millers, and bulk suppliers.

• Negotiate pricing, contracts, and payment terms to ensure cost efficiency.

• Monitor market trends, commodity price fluctuations, and seasonal supply risks.

• Ensure compliance with quality standards and coordinate with quality control teams.

• Manage supplier performance and conduct periodic supplier evaluations.

• Prepare procurement reports, cost analyses, and forecasts.

• Maintain proper documentation and ensure compliance with company procurement policies.

• Coordinate with production, finance, and warehouse teams for smooth operations.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement & Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Agriculture, or a related field (Degree is a must).

• Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in procurement within the animal feeds or agricultural manufacturing industry.

• Strong knowledge of feed ingredients, supplier networks, and commodity markets.

• Professional certification (CIPS/KSPS) is an added advantage.

• Strong negotiation and contract management skills.

• High level of integrity and ethical standards.

• Proficient in MS Office and ERP systems.
