Job Overview

Procurement and Supply Chain Lead is a senior procurement and supply chain position responsible for overseeing procurement activities, supplier management, purchasing processes, and supply chain operations.

Powervision Consultancy is seeking a qualified and experienced professional who can provide strong leadership in procurement and supply chain management. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that goods and services are sourced efficiently, cost-effectively, and in line with organizational requirements and procurement procedures.

The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in procurement and supply chain operations, strong negotiation skills, excellent supplier management abilities, and a good understanding of procurement processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee procurement and supply chain activities within the organization.
• Develop and implement effective procurement strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Manage the sourcing and purchasing of goods and services.
• Identify, evaluate, and manage suppliers and service providers.
• Negotiate prices, contracts, payment terms, and other commercial agreements with suppliers.
• Maintain strong and professional relationships with existing and potential suppliers.
• Monitor supplier performance, delivery timelines, quality, and compliance with agreed terms.
• Ensure procurement activities are conducted efficiently and in accordance with approved procedures.
• Review purchase requisitions, quotations, purchase orders, and other procurement documentation.
• Conduct supplier evaluations and support the development of an effective supplier base.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings and improved procurement efficiency.
• Monitor procurement expenditure and support effective budget management.
• Coordinate with internal departments to understand purchasing requirements and ensure timely delivery.
• Monitor inventory and supply requirements to prevent shortages and unnecessary excess stock.
• Ensure accurate and up-to-date procurement records and documentation.
• Prepare procurement, supplier, and supply chain reports for management.
• Identify supply chain risks and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
• Support contract management and ensure suppliers meet contractual obligations.
• Stay informed about market trends, supplier pricing, and developments affecting procurement and supply chain operations.
• Provide guidance and leadership to procurement and supply chain staff where applicable.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Management, or a related field.
• Minimum 6 years of relevant procurement and supply chain experience.
• At least 5 years of experience in a procurement or supply chain leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of procurement processes, supplier management, and purchasing operations.
• Excellent negotiation and contract management skills.
• Strong analytical and decision-making abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational and planning skills.
• Ability to manage multiple procurement activities and priorities effectively.
• Good understanding of inventory and supply chain management.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant procurement or enterprise management systems.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with different departments.
